Joovy Stroller Caboose

can you take a sit and stand stroller in the plane as a carry on?
Stroller Type: Joovy Caboose Ultralight Airline: American Airlines i have a 3 yr old and a 6 months old paid a seat for 3 yr old and infant on lap.
I’m a former Flight Attendant and I fly a lot with my three children.
I honestly have never seen a stroller that wasn’t allowed to be gate-checked. This is not a very big one (certainly smaller than many I saw at work). Usually they just require it to be fold-able.
How much does it weigh? Strip it of any “extras”, including cup holders, sunshade and toys. I doubt they will weigh it but you don’t need that stuff for flying anyway.
Here is AA’s page on strollers. One small issue with them; on my company, strollers were NOT allowed in overhead bins. I strongly urge you not to do this. It could come down on someone’s head (happened, not on my flight but with my airline and the damage was permanent). The parents are careful but it would be someone else, getting their gear, who would pull it down probably.
In fact, bringing a stroller on board at all is not a good idea. Gate-check it and be sure to ask which door to exit if it’s a bigger aircraft. This way, you can pick it up as soon as you exit at your destination.

I recommend using a bungee cord to double secure it. Latches often open en route and this could damage your stroller. You can also use a bag as well, not even a purpose-designed one but a duffel or even laundry bag will keep your stroller clean and dry.
For more information, nine years ago I wrote an article on this subject. It’s based on both my personal and professional experience of flying with children. It’s totally non-commercial and other parents from around the world have contributed;
